Marc Ange was born in the holy city of Rome under the terror of the Red Brigades, in a rootless family torn between arts, religion and madness.
He established his first creative studio in Paris, the city where he grew up. The city of lights and its elegance, romanticism and culture have inspired his vision - a vision that highlights the necessity of beauty.
It is in Los Angeles, where he lives today, that he has completed his artistic vision. His second studio draws inspiration from the strangeness of the City of Angels, a place of sunlight and illusion, where the unexpected is the rule. It is in LA that Marc Ange has perfected his capacity to Create the Extraordinary.
His childhood looms large in his universe and his creations, which are balanced between real and unreal, perfection and error, harmony and chance...
The pieces he creates play with the notions of the infinitely large and the infinitely small – emerging from sensations of disproportion and surrealism rooted his memories from childhood. Each creation offers a new way to look at reality through residual flashes of memory from our first years of life.
The beauty of his designs lie in their experiential nature. Never losing sight of functionality, nor denying a drive towards a certain aestheticism, Marc Ange surprises us with the forms, volumes, and textures he creates.
Playing with the golden ratio and the magical properties of the different materials and structures, pieces are developed as meaningful experiences to be lived, flirting with magic and a kind of shamanic power and opening portals to wider realities.
His studios are meant to be disruptive. Laboratories where one can experiment, dream, travel, explore the infinity of what is offered to us.
